In 1999 we, as Chance to Dance organised the 1st ever Dance Weekender/Competition in the whole of the North of England, now known as the World Modern Jive Championships at the Blackpool Tower.
Since then we have seen lots of weekenders start up, such as Southport’s Butlins Splash, Jive Addictions Hemsby and quite a few 2* & 3* Hotel type Weekenders. So when we launched Revolution Dance, we thought there was a gap for the dancer who loved to dance, but wanted more from the accommodation! That 4* Treatment, not only with the rooms, but with the food & services on offer.
We appreciate that the main reasons for the weekenders & holidays are to dance & meet up with friends, so we also wanted to give you that 4* Dance Treatment, with some of the best Ballrooms & Teachers of the very best quality, as well as not forgetting some of our home grown amazing Modern Jive Teachers.
For this reason we have included so far Teachers & Cabaret Performers who have performed on Strictly Come Dancing, Won the USA’s Dancing with the Stars, Finished 28th in the World of Latin Ballroom, Opened the MOBO Awards, Won the World Modern Jive Champions at the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool, as well as appearing on many TV shows. Yes we really do want to bring you the best!
All that said, we want you first and foremost to have fun, and our team & teachers make sure this happens, whilst you can dip your toes into many other dance styles, such as Argentine Tango, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop & Swing, Blues, Fun Adult Ballet, Zouk, Latin Ballroom, the list just goes on.
However we never forget our routes, so the main theme during the classes & at the Evening Freestyles is still Modern Jive. We tend to have another room for other styles as well, so everyone gets spoilt!
